Our June Execs in Tech Monthly meetup was tremendously successful. We had two passionate and credible speakers in James Morrison of the FBI and David Morgan CISSP, CNSS NSA Security, GSLC Vice President and Information Security Officer of Prosperity Bank and former FBI. They each shared stories and advice on how to create a culture of Cybersecurity from their real world experiences

Bottom line there will be 2 Trillion dollars in loss this year due to hackers and ransomware and Small and Medium-sized businesses have the most to lose. "There are two types of companies, those who have been hit and those who have been hit again" James Morrison said when talking about how much of a problem this is in today's business world. About our Speakers: 

David Morgan - Vice President & Information Security Officer, Prosperity Bank

David Morgan currently works in cybersecurity and has over 25 years’ experience in investigations, cybersecurity, and information technology. He has worked in the federal government (US Marine Corps, FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office), state government, and civilian sector (IT training, oil & gas, financial, and medical sectors). He also continues to teach college and IT certification training courses and has completed certification in different topics which include vendors such as (ISC)2 , Linux Professional Institute, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and CNSS/NSA.

James MorrisonComputer Scientist - FBI Houston Division

James Morrison is a Computer Scientist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation assigned to the Houston Division. He serves as a local technical expert to the Special Agents and Task Force Officers assigned to the Houston Area Cyber Crimes Task Force. He assists in computer intrusion investigations and reverse engineers software to determine source and purpose of the malignant code. He has worked in the IT field for more than 30 years, including 21 years with the FBI.

Prior to working with the FBI, Morrison was an engineer with Lockheed Martin at Kirtland AFB, NM and a UNIX/database administrator with the US Air Force at Falcon AFB (now Shriver AFB), CO and Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines. Morrison holds a BS in Computer Engineering degree from Colorado Tech University, a MA in US History from the University of New Mexico, and a MBA from the University of Phoenix as well as other professional certifications.
